How adopting works
Steps in order. The paperwork is written out, so you know what you are signing.
- Reach out. Text or email Leah about your home and what you want from a dog.
- We follow up. Reach Leah any time; she answers as soon as she can.
- Visit. Visits are welcome. Pickup is at the farm in Central Florida, and shipping can be arranged at the buyer's cost.
- Reserve with a deposit under a written contract. The deposit is 10%, non-refundable unless the puppy is deemed unfit for sale. Pay by cash at pickup or delivery, Zelle, Cash App or Apple Pay. No checks or PayPal.
- Vet check and health certificate. A licensed vet examines the puppy within 30 days of sale and lists the vaccines and dewormers with dates. You get a copy.
- Pickup at 8 weeks or older. You sign the disclosure for any known hereditary issues. You keep a copy of the contract.
What the contract covers
- The deposit and what it applies to.
- The refund, exchange or vet-cost remedies for illness, parasites and hereditary problems, as Florida law sets them.
- What you agree to for the puppy's care and records.
